CNC Milling has several advantages over other manufacturing processes. It is cost effective for short runs. Complex shapes and high dimensional tolerances are possible. Smooth finishes can be achieved. CNC milling can produce almost any 2D or 3D shape provided that the rotating cutting tools can reach the material to be removed. Examples of CNC milled parts include engine components, mold tooling, complex mechanisms, enclosures, etc.
Milling Design Considerations:
•Providing corner radius of 10% or more of wall height is ideal.
•Avoid flimsy shapes.
•Provide shapes that are practical to hold during machining, such as straight edges.
•As the milling process applies pressure to the material, weak shapes are difficult to machine, such as long thin shapes and thin walls.
•Generates a cut surface with a visible pattern resulting from the rotation and movement of the cutter.
The CNC Baronhasaheavy-dutycast-iron body with dovetail ways on the square column for precise vertical alignment. It's a versatile bench top mid-size CNC mill made for primary or secondary CNC machining applications.
This CNC machine is intended for the user WHO NEEDS IT ALL like the performance of a CNC Bridgeport typesize machine without taking up thefloorspacelikelarger CNC machinery. The CNC Baron Table Top Mill is a great purchase for machine shops, research institutions ,colleges, universities, highschools, engineers who need to quickly prototype 3Dparts,and one-man operations who need to mass produce hundreds of the same single part intheir home garage-turned-shop.The CNC Baron Milling Machine makes a great investment tool for business owner swhowouldrather save money by machining the irown part sinste a dof contracting the or der out.CNC MASTERS presents the ALL NEW CNC Baron to our line of CNC milling machines! It's specifically digned for the machinist who needs it all WITHOUT TAKING UPTHE SPACE and BREAKING THE BANK! ITS TURN-KEY,EASY TO LEARN, AND EASY TO OPERATE!The CNC Baron machine and controller are built to order and stock in-house in the USA. We do not buy and re-sell our CNC Driving System. So we'll never bounce you to a third-party vendor for limited support to either their controller or another vendor's machine.WE SUPPORT THE COMPLETE CNC Baron MILLING CENTER INCLUDING ITS OPERATIONAL SOFTWARE BY PHONE OR EMAIL.Works on operating systems: WINDOWS VISTA AND XP on USB.Powerful X, Y, and Z axis micro-stepper motors are size 34 with 1200 in/oz. of torque. Stronger torque coupled with micro-stepping motion allows the CNC Baron to perform accurately without losing steps. The minimum possible motion is .0001” with a minimum speed of 0.5” per minute. The maximum speed is 50” per minute.Full 3 Axis or optional 4 Axis coordinated motion control on bipolar motors--far superior over unipolar technology when it comes to torque and power. True Interpolation!Head tilts for angled drilling, horizontal milling, slotting and more,Dovetail ways on the column, X table, and Y saddle for precision alignment and movementX & Y Axes Zero Backlash Ball Screws with pre-loaded ball nuts to eliminate play on the table and saddle travel, and provides precision machining down to +/- 0.00025" in one inch. These custom-made precision ball screws allow for precision conventional and climb milling operations and accurate circular and contour cuts without time consuming setups.Box or column mills are very basic hobbyist bench-mounted milling machines that feature a head riding up and down on a column or box way.Turret or vertical ram mills are more commonly referred to as Bridgeport-type milling machines. The spindle can be aligned in many different positions for a very versatile, if somewhat less rigid machine.Knee mill or knee-and-column mill refers to any milling machine whose x-y table rides up and down the column on a vertically adjustable knee. This includes Bridgeports.C-Frame mills are larger, industrial production mills.
They feature a knee and fixed spindle head that is only mobile vertically. They are typically much more powerful than a turret mill, featuring a separate hydraulic motor for integral hydraulic power feeds in all directions, and a twenty to fifty horsepower motor. Backlash eliminators are almost always standard equipment. They use large NMTB 40 or 50 tooling. The tables on C-frame mills are usually 18" by 68" or larger, toallow multiple parts to be machined at the same time.Horizontal boring mills are large, accurate bed horizontal mills that incorporate many features from various machine tools. They are predominantly used to create large manufacturing jigs, or to modify large, high precision parts. They have a spindle stroke of several (usually between four and six) feet, and many are equipped with a tailstock to perform very long boring operations without losing accuracy as the bore increases in depth. A typical bed would have X and Y travel, and be between three and four feet square with a rotary table or a larger rectangle without said table. The pendant usually has between four and eight feet in vertical movement. Some mills have a large (30" or more) integral facing head. Right angle rotary tables and vertical milling attachments are available to further increase productivity.
