CNC laser cutting
CNC laser cutting offers low cost for prototype and short runs since no physical tooling is needed. Heat distortion is minimal and typically limited to about 10% of material thickness. Laser cut parts generally remain flat. The process yields minimal burrs.CNC laser cutting can be applied to several types of materials. Aluminum can be cut but requires a higher power more expensive laser. Stainless steel, plain steel and spring steel are highly suitable for laser cutting. Acrylic laser cuts superbly with a near polished edge. Metals such as copper alloys are difficult to cut by laser due to their ability to reflect the laser light and absorb heat. Many plastics are problematic due to toxic fumes.Laser cutting can produce almost any 2D shape including shaped cutouts.

Examples of laser cut parts include enclosures, cams, brackets, sculptures, holders, mechanisms, etc.CNC laser cutting produces part shapes by cutting sheet material using an intense laser beam. In CNC laser cutting a beam of high-density light energy is focused through a tiny hole in a nozzle. When this beam strikes the surface of the work piece, the material of the work piece is vaporized. Our mandrel-bent rails are the finest in the industry because of these machines and the specially designed tooling that we have developed. I pioneered mandrel-bent frame rails for drag racing, and have a huge investment in their successful production. This bender is so sophisticated that programming is almost obsolete. We simply call up a drawing from our CAD software, and insert the correct length of tubing; the bender takes it from there. This allows us to make custom cages with just a few measurements from you. The software then calculates all bends and degrees to produce exactly what your custom application needs. Technology is certainly not wasted in our facility. All Chassisworks bent-tube products are made on one of two computer-controlled, mandrel tube benders. These machines utilize the latest technology in pressure die boost and assist, which pushes more material into the outer radius of the bend to greatly minimize tube thinning. To further ensure the quality of the finished goods, our CNC bender is programmed directly from the CAD drawing. This machine has nine programmable axis, which allow us to make even the most-complicated formed parts. Once a digital model of the formed part is downloaded, the control virtually programs itself.
